Practical Witchcraft

My personal belief is that if a hierarchy continues to operate within the Craft then it is either doomed to oblivion or worse, to becoming a thing of ridicule. For Goddess women & for Witches, the issues surrounding pagan hierarchy are not so very different from the sexism & misogyny we encounter in everyday life. It is essential that women & men learn to work magic together with absolute equality. And women who choose to work alone or in women~only space must be equally recognised & their powers & abilities honoured.

The work of a commited Goddess woman is first & foremost to honour the Land. If she concerns herself with hierarchy or a spiritual practice which encourages 'power over,' she negates the principle of Life on Earth wherein we find equality made manifest.

The Earth is a perfect metaphor for the Goddess ~ for Mother Earth. And in my practice it is the Goddess who who makes us priestesses. As humans, all we can do is confirm this. I am an advocate for self initiation or dedication. To thine own self be truth.

The job of a priestess is to do nothing without first considering how her actions might impact both on her environement & on the people around her. To reach out with love & integrity to those who may seek her. Within her community, to strive toward being both (in)visible & accessible. And finally, to always act with wisdom & mindfulness.

The trick is to put a great deal more thought into how we live our lives on this fragile planet than to concern ourselves with the ego of some fool in a swirly cloak, or the casting of unecessary spells.

One love

Many blessings
